Ready! Set! 

It's time for Le Diner en Blanc in New York City. White attire? Check!

Destination? We were patiently waiting to receive the locale to attend the event.

Le Diner En Blanc in New York took place for the first time at the Meat Packing District in the West Village of New York City on September 14, 2023. We attended the event and celebrated a beautiful and enchanting evening with 4,000 of our closest new friends wearing all-white ensembles.

The Theme: Vintage in White!!!

It all started in Paris, France 🇫🇷 where a small group decided to have a pop-up white luxury picnic-style dinner. Now, Diner En Blanc is an event happening in many cities worldwide. The event started in different parts of the city where people were placed in groups to wait for the magic hour and see where they would be heading next. Some thought the location would be downtown, perhaps uptown, or even Governor's Island. There is a leader in the groups who holds the magic envelope with the final destination, which can only be revealed at the magic hour. The leader is not allowed to share the final destination but is in charge of guiding her team towards the final location. All attendees were responsible to bring their tables, chairs, and food. Once they arrived in the designated area, they would see different groups submerging together. Le Diner En Blanc has a very organized system as the leader would guide her team to their location to set their tables for the event to begin. Once set, people who previously purchased their wine or champagne would need to go to pick it up as outside liquor or wine is not allowed.

The event officially begins during the waving of the white napkins. Music plays, performers sing, people walk around, take pictures, partake in Le Diner En Blanc special setups such as photography opportunities, and more. As the night went by, attendees were ready to dance to the tunes of DJ Samantha Michelle who got the crowd on the dance floor by playing "Empire State of Mind" by Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. Not long after, we were surprised to see the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams at the event all dressed in white.

While attendees were in their designated groups and tables, we experienced it VIP style in the media garden. As an attendee, you would not get the full experience unless you walked around to see people's creative ensembles and table set-ups. 

Would I come back to another Le Diner en Blanc event? You bet, to me it is one of the best events of the year. The fact the event is held in a lot of cities worldwide is a testament to its success.
